Ava This is my Story!

Hello folks! I recently finished the personal story of Guild Wars 2 and just a couple of minuites later I thought: “Why didn’t you write a diary during that?” First I thought about just doing it out of memory but soon I figured it wouldn’t be the same. Well, I decided to make a new Character and just do the whole thing again. I really found the personal story amazing and I can’t wait to get startet.

In addition I just have to say that I’m not a native english speaker, so I hope you don’t mind the mistakes I’m going to make. I just choose to write this in english so the most people would be able to read this blog if they wanted to. Anyway, don’t hesitate to give me a hint in the comment section if you stumble upon some mistakes, I’d appreciate that really. After all you’ll never learn enough.

Well and now to the rest: all artwork used is property of Arenanet and not owned by me in any form, screenshots of the game are usually made by me.

  1. I think this is a great idea and I’m excited to be following this adventure with you! Guild Wars 2 has an amazing ability to draw you right into the game and make you feel like a real hero, so I think it’s pretty awesome that you’re taking it one step further and bringing it outside the game. I can’t wait to see Lyelle’s story grow 😀

    • Thanks for the compliment. I’m still excited myself despite already finishing the story with another character. To be honest I’m really looking forward to playing everyday just because I know I can write about it afterwards 😀

      • You’re very welcome. Do you feel more a part of the story as you’re playing through, since you would be trying to imagine it from your character’s perspective? It all sounds very fun to me!

  2. I don’t know if I got your question right. I just can say that Arenanet really did awesome work regarding the personal story, at least in my opinion. I remember one point of the story very clearly. It was one of these crucial moments where you just knew you had to give everything because if you failed it was all over. And at this point, this very moment they really did something amazing. They just muted every battle sound and unnessecary noise and replaced it with just one song. Till today when I remember this part it rather feels to me like I fought this battle and not my character. I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t go into further details here but I can say for sure that I’m really looking forward to play this part of the story again. In addition to many others. I hope that answers your question somehow 🙂

  3. Yes, you did answer my question 🙂 I agree with you, ANet did a wonderful job, especially by letting us make certain choices throughout the storyline. I’m on the very last mission though so I’m kind of sad that it will be over soon 😦

    • Thanks! It’s still fun to write and honestly the blog helped me to realize how much I love writing. I’m already thinking about what to do once I finished the personal story since I really want to continue the writing.
